Patriots @ Miami open thread
Is today the day Tom Brady loses back-to-back games? Is today the day the dynasty wavers? Is today the day we start thinking about next year?
Richard Seymour is ACTIVE. But there's no telling how close to 100 percent he is.
Miami is a good 1300 miles away, so you're going to have to be loud to let them hear it.
GO PATRIOTS!

Not a bad opening drive. I would have liked the points, but good signs that they can move the ball. Excellent punt by Josh Miller. He might be a top contender for team MVP when it's said and done.
Pretty good opening defensive series. Would have liked to keep them pinned at the goalline. Have to stop giving up those long third downs. What was Tim Dwight thinking not calling for a fair catch?
BS! Every quarterback in the league gets that late hit!
That's BEAUTIFUL pass coverage by Ellis Hobbs!
Why are the Patriots the only ones called for that defensive delay of game for "intentionally flinching"/"unnatural acts"?
Way to save a touchdown Bruschi! Nice shank Mare!
First time a Patriots opponent has not scored from the red zone this season.
As Josephus once said, "The tide is turning!"
Well, that was horrible defense. Looked like Chambers might have pushed off, but it didn't look like it on the replay. Just bad defense. Offense needs to grind out some time.
A play in the last two minutes was reviewed? Oh, it must have been a review that would have favored someone other than the Patriots. The NEVER review plays for the Pats in the last two minutes.
Simms! Idiot! You don't "play it safe" on the road down by a touchdown! "Don't call a timeout." Do these "analysts" know ANYTHING?
How about staying in the two-minute offense in the second half?
7-3 is much more manageable than 7-0 or 14-0.
That's several nice plays by Hobbs today.
That's BS too! Talk about calling a one-sided game! It's not unnecessary roughness when they tackle Brady 5 yards out of bounds, but they call it on the Pats on a kick returner! Mike Pereira better be begging forgiveness for this one.
I'm telling you, Asante Samuel has that Rodney Harrison instinct. Too bad he's not about 2 inches taller. Great hit on Ricky Williams.
Is it me, or do the Dolphin wide receivers look for a flag any time they don't catch a ball?
Geez, don't root too hard for Miami there, Simms. You might hurt yourself. That was SO clearly defensive pass interference, there's no analogy for it.
Down 7-6. Do I dare start chanting "De-fense" despite the fact that I have neither a D nor a fence?
Ya, that was a horrible spot. Good thing CBS's line was horrible too.
Excellent recognition of the blitz. Nice play call. Nice execution. Ben Coates ... er, Watson ... for the TD. ... going for 2 ... geez!
CBS has no shame with this ridiculous TV movie. Just thought I'd mention that.
Great play there! Hobbs comes up big again and almost blows it and then saves it.
Simms should be an NFL official so he can help the teams he roots for. That was McGinest's forearm across Frerotte's facemask. His hand was on Frerotte's shoulder. Why, oh why, don't I just listen to the radio for these games?
Patriots really need this conversion. How about one of those tight end screens? Any other ideas?
Man, why does Brady play so poorly in this stadium?
WHAT A PLAY by DWIGHT!
I don't like scoring too early, but I'd rather have the 7 than the 3. For two ... IN!!
By the way, Simms and whathisname are complete idiots, always talking about what a team should do not to play to win. "Run the clock and go for a field goal." NO! You play to win!
Miami just looking for flags.
Whew.
I'll take 10 more lucky wins, thanks.
Ellis Hobbs for player of the game.
Hobbs, definitely player of the game. Not even so much for the interception as for the two straight passes defensed on the closing series when they threw it at him twice in a row. Good to see Miami lose, Saban should have a talk with his receivers about not whining for an interference call every time they don't make a catch. It was pathetic to watch. Nice win by the Pats.
